Taiwan Accreditation
Foundation (TAF) has been requested to study the MAD (Mutual Acceptance of
Data) of the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) GLP
(Good Laboratory Practice, GLP) by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology, and
Inspection, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan since 2004 and launched the
program “OECD GLP National Compliance Monitoring System” in 2006.
TAF represents as the national
GLP compliance monitoring authority in Taiwan under the program “OECD Good
Laboratory Practice (GLP) National Compliance Monitoring System”. The main task
of the national GLP compliance monitoring authority is to inspect, recognize
and monitor that the test facility complies with the Principles of Good
Laboratory Practice (GLP) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and
Development (OECD) as well as to maintain the registration of the compliance
test facility under the program. The test facility can claim to be compliant
with the OECD GLP and that its data is a true reflection of the results
supported via the registration by TAF. However, whether the plan, purpose and
test system of the study as well as the interpretation for the results of each
study is suitable or not is the responsibility of each (inter)national
regulatory authority which is in charge of submitting the data and evaluation,
not included in the function and role of the national GLP compliance monitoring
authority.
