Laboratory accreditation
TAF provides laboratory accreditation services
against the International Standards ISO/IEC 17025 (for testing and calibration
laboratories) and ISO 15189 (for medical laboratories). Laboratories seeking or
maintaining TAF accreditation must comply with the International Standard and
observe the “TAF Service Manual for Laboratory/Inspection Body”, “TAF Rights
and Obligations” and other related policies and requirements in specific field.
Summary of application process
1. The applicant laboratory obtains all necessary
TAF application forms, TAF requirements and policy documents from the web site
or directly from TAF.
2. The applicant laboratory obtains account
number and PIN from TAF, and then fills in application forms and uploads
required documents through the TAF e-system.
3. The applicant laboratory receives the
confirmation of case reception and then completes the payment.
4. TAF reviews the application documents and an
appropriate assessor(s) is assigned, with laboratory concurrence.
5. The accreditation officer contacts the
laboratory to discuss the scheduling of the on-site assessment and request the
quality documentation. Once documentation is reviewed for completeness, the
assessment can be scheduled with the assessor(s).
6. The preliminary visit (applicable to initial
assessment) or on-site assessment is performed.
7. The laboratory responds to any non-conformity
with a written corrective action response.
8. After the corrective action is reviewed by TAF
technical staff and once complete, the application is forwarded for
accreditation decision.
9. Accreditation is granted.
10. The accredited laboratory is registered in
the on-line accredited directory
